Removable Dentures

Comfortable, natural-looking dentures, a craft our clinic has refined for a century.

What is it?

Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. A complete denture replaces all the teeth in a jaw. A partial denture fills gaps when some natural teeth remain. A well-made denture restores your smile, your chewing and your speech. Making dentures that fit well and look natural has been an art at our clinic since 1924.

Do you need it?

You may benefit if you notice:

  • Lost most or all of your teeth
  • Difficulty chewing or speaking clearly because of missing teeth
  • Current denture is loose, painful or worn out
  • Your face looks sunken from missing teeth
  • You have several gaps and want an affordable non surgical option

Step by step

What happens during treatment

  1. 1

    Assessment

We examine your gums and remaining teeth and discuss the denture options.

  2. 2

    Impressions

Accurate moulds of your mouth are taken.

  3. 3

    Bite and tooth selection

We record your bite and choose the shape and shade of the teeth.

  4. 4

    Trial fitting

A wax try-in lets you check the look and fit before the final denture is made.

  5. 5

    Delivery and adjustments

Your denture is fitted, and we fine-tune any sore spots over the following weeks.

Visits

4-5 over 2-4 weeks

Duration

30-45 minutes per visit

Comfort

Low discomfort

No pain involved in making the denture. New dentures take a few weeks to get used to, and small sore spots are easily adjusted.

Aftercare

  • Start with soft food cut into small pieces, chewing on both sides.
  • Read aloud to get used to speaking with the denture
  • Remove and clean it daily with a denture brush and denture cleaning tablets. Do not use boiling water.
  • Take it out at night to rest your gums. It can be stored in water in the case provided.
  • Visit us for an adjustment if it rubs, and for a check every year.
