Crown & Bridge
Precision-fit custom caps that protect weak teeth, and fixed bridges that fill gaps
What is it?
A crown is a cap that covers a damaged, weak or root-treated tooth, restoring its strength and shape. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring artificial teeth to crowns on the neighbouring teeth. Both are fixed in place and don't come out. We offer metal-free ceramic and zirconia options that match your natural teeth.
Do you need it?
You may benefit if you notice:
- Large or broken fillings
- A tooth that has had a root canal
- A missing tooth with healthy teeth on either side
- A worn, discoloured or misshapen tooth you'd like to improve
Step by step
What happens during treatment
- 1
Planning
Examination, X-rays and a discussion of materials and shade.
- 2
Tooth preparation
Under local anaesthesia, the tooth is reshaped to make room for the crown.
- 3
Impressions
A digital scan is taken and sent to the lab. We only use digital scans to improve the precision of the crown and bridge margins. We record the shade of your adjacent teeth and send it to the lab.
- 4
Fitting
We call buy back once the crown is ready, check the fit, bite and colour and then cement the crown and bridge.
Visits
2–3 over 1-2 weeks
Duration
45-90 minutes per visit
Comfort
Low discomfort
Preparation is done under local anaesthesia. Slight gum tenderness or sensitivity for a few days is normal.
Aftercare
- Mild sensitivity after fitting usually settles within a few days
- Clean under your bridge daily with floss threaders or interdental brushes.
- Don't bite on hard objects like ice or nut shells
- Come for regular check-ups so we can check the edges of the crown.
